Dog Quiz Bowl

If you love dogs, are quick on your feet, smart, and love a good game...then the 4-H Paws N Pals Club wants you for our Dog Quiz Bowl team. 4-H'ers of all ages compete on a state level for the 4-H Dog Quiz Bowl Championship. Played like Jeopardy, this quick, quiz game tests your knowledge of dog facts.

I use my Head for fast answers, my Heart for good sportsmanship, my Hands for fast buzzer ringing, and my Health for excellent brain power.

4-H Dog Quiz Bowl is similiar to the game show Jeopardy except all the questions relate to dogs. Teams are made up of three or four 4-H'ers in either of three age categories: junior ages 8 to 10, intermediate ages 11 to 13, and senior ages 14 to 18. Points are given or lost by accuracy of responses and the speed at which answers are given.

Dog Quiz Bowl provides 4-H'ers with a positive opportunity to build their knowledge of various subjects related to their pet and demonstrate their skill related to this 4-H project. Dog Quiz Bowl offers a competitive setting where sportsmanship, friendliness, and fairness are the goals.

Dog Quiz Bowl allows 4-H'ers to develop critical thinking skills, self-confidence, self-discipline, teamwork, and public speaking skills.

Dog Quiz Bowl questions can relate to dog breeds, history, health and diseases, genetics, reproduction, showing and conformation, anatomy and physiology, equipment, and the dog industry and its products.

The 4-H Paws N Pals Club uses a custom designed online learning tool to study for Dog Quiz Bowl. Developed by leader Kim Butler of TheURLdr.com, the online tool allows 4-H'ers to study for upcoming competitions online and utilizes games, crossword puzzles, fill in the blank, true false, and quizzes. The tool allows leaders to check progress made by 4-H'ers and keeps on ongoing history of their game and test scores.

This is an example of a Quiz Bowl competition. This is not a Dog Quiz Bowl competition.
