Flyball

Flyball is a dog sport where teams of dogs race against each other from the start line, over hurdles, to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught by the dog when it presses a spring loaded pad, then back to the finish line to hand the ball to their handler. Sort of like human relay races, this sport uses four dogs to a relay team.

In Agility 4-H'ers use their HEADS in critical thinking, their HEARTS in nurturing their dogs, their HANDS in teamwork, and their HEALTH to navigate the course.

Flyball is yet another entertaining way to interact with your dog and compete with other dog lovers in a fun, exciting sport that allows dogs to exercise and please their handlers. This is a great sport for high energy dogs like Border Collies, herding dogs, and Terriers to work off their "doggie yah yahs". Flyball allows dogs of all kinds, mixed breeds, mutts, and pure bloods to shine like the champs they are.

Flyball is great sport for juniors to compete in. It's a great opportunity to meet new friends and develop new relationships around our dogs. For more information on flyball, visit the North American Flyball Association (NAFA), the United Flyball League, and Wikipedia.
