The Technology Club of 4-H Paws N Pals operates the club's full time e-commerce site. Club members of all ages will be paired with an advisor in a "business department". Business
departments include online marketing, product selection and quality control, inventory, sales, e-commerce, and bookkeeping. They'll be
assigned to that department for 4 months. In that time they'll learn the various aspects of how their department works. They'll work in teams to develop "company" policies and make
real business decisions. Along the way, 4-H'ers will learn entrepreneurship, critical
thinking skills, deductive reasoning, hone their common sense, develop policies for different positions, and how to work as a member of a team. The money they make or lose effects
the whole club and everyone is held accountable...just like in the real business world. We'll focus on ethical business practices and how to run a company that club members can be
proud of. Maybe some of today's big corporations should study how the kids do it!
The Technology Club will also deal in off-line sales of their products and will participate in local fundraising events. Products will be developed and produced by the club and
other 4-H advisors and club members. Through this project, 4-H'ers will develop a sense of how e-commerce and the online world work. If you are interested in finding out more about
